Two Arrested in Burglary and Theft Case at Crowne Plaza Resort

SAIPAN — Police have arrested two men in connection with burglary and theft charges tied to the alleged theft of six cases of corned beef from the Crowne Plaza Resort, the Department of Public Safety announced Friday.

Judge Joseph N. Camacho issued arrest warrants Wednesday for Robert Palacios and Alex Mongkeya, with bail set at $25,000 for each. The court also issued a search warrant for Mongkeya’s vehicle, a blue 2017 Nissan Pathfinder, license plate ADB-780, in relation to the alleged theft.

Criminal Investigation Bureau officers arrested Mongkeya at 1:35 p.m. near Noodle House in Garapan, according to the release. At 2:12 p.m., CIB officers located and arrested Palacios at Fun and Game Poker in Garapan.

The Pathfinder was secured as evidence and towed to the DPS Impound Lot for inventory.

Both men are in custody pending further court proceedings. DPS thanked the community for its assistance and said the investigation remains active.
