ROTA — The Tatachok Landfill is now open, the Rota Mayor’s Office announced Saturday, giving residents a place to take household trash as cleanup from Super Typhoon Bavi continues into its first weekend.
The landfill is accepting household trash only, the mayor’s office said in a public notice. Green waste debris, metal, white goods and other items will not be accepted at this time. Residents should separate those items and place them curbside at their residence.
The landfill is open Saturday and Sunday, July 11 and 12, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., according to the notice.
Regular landfill operating hours will resume starting next week, the mayor’s office said.
