ROTA — CUC line crews energized an additional 41 customers on Rota Wednesday, bringing the total receiving power to 204, the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation said Thursday, as restoration work continues along both of the island’s feeders.
The total puts Rota at about 21 percent of the island’s 967 CUC customers, based on figures from the Joint Information Center, up from roughly 15 percent a day earlier.
Crews are working Thursday along Feeder 1 in the Songsong area, where CUC’s work map highlights a segment east of the power plant near the Coral Garden Hotel and Hotel Valentino, and along Feeder 2 in Sinapalo, where highlighted segments run near the Sinapalo Safeway and south of the San Francisco de Borja Highway on the village’s west side.
CUC reminded customers connected to a generator or solar power system to turn off their main circuit breaker as power is energized in their area, protecting line crews, customers and home electrical systems.
