SAIPAN – Federal disaster aid approved for Super Typhoon Sinlaku survivors has reached $9.6 million as the response enters its 37th day, with the deadline to apply for FEMA Individual Assistance set for June 22, the joint response operation said in its Tuesday update.
FEMA has received 9,405 applications and deployed 283 responders to the Commonwealth as of Tuesday. Field crews have completed 74 percent of home inspections, with 38 inspectors still working sites across the three islands.
S.T.R.O.N.G., the federal-territorial Sustainment of Temporary Resilience and Operational Needs on Ground mission, has installed 573 emergency tents and 58 temporary roofs to date. The Tent Mission has placed 440 tents on Saipan and 133 on Tinian. The Roof Mission has installed 43 temporary roofs on Saipan, 12 on Tinian and three on Rota.
Survivor Recovery Centers across the islands have logged 4,344 visits since opening, while 139 residents remain in emergency shelters.
Essential supply deliveries continue. The recovery operation has distributed roughly one million liters of water and 243,040 meals to survivors. Debris removal has cleared 7,200 cubic yards of storm material.
The U.S. Small Business Administration has received 465 disaster loan applications and approved roughly $2 million in low-interest disaster loans for households and businesses.

The June 22 deadline applies to FEMA Individual Assistance, which covers grants for housing repairs, temporary rentals, and other disaster-related needs.
