Highs around 87, light and variable winds becoming northwest around 10 mph in the afternoon, chance of showers 40 percent.
Tonight stays mostly cloudy with scattered showers, lows around 77 and a 50 percent chance. Sunday and Sunday night continue mostly cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, and locally heavy showers are possible, with highs around 86 and a 40 percent chance. Forecasters say Sunday’s heavy-shower potential across the region depends on a monsoon disturbance that may form to the southeast, just north of Chuuk. Monday trends partly sunny at a 30 percent chance before a breezy, mostly cloudy stretch carries a 40 percent chance of showers through Friday, with highs in the mid 80s.
On the water, combined seas of 4 to 5 feet gradually build to 5 to 7 feet by Monday on increasing westerly swell, keeping the weekend outlook on the manageable end of what forecasters flagged earlier in the week. Light to moderate northwesterlies become southwesterly next week, and boaters should watch for occasional fresh to strong gusts near heavier showers, to 25 knots on Sunday.
