No tsunami threat to the CNMI after 6.7 quake in the Philippines

Saipan — There is no tsunami threat to the CNMI following a preliminary magnitude 6.7 earthquake in Mindanao, Philippines, Homeland Security and Emergency Management said Wednesday afternoon, citing the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

The earthquake struck at 2:14 p.m. ChST at a depth of 39 miles, centered at 5.3 degrees north, 125.6 degrees east. No tsunami impacts are expected.
