MVA Invites Public to Bird Island Nature Hike on June 27

SAIPAN — The Marianas Visitors Authority is inviting residents and visitors to a nature hike at the Bird Island Hike Trail in Marpi on Saturday, June 27, as part of its effort to develop new outdoor visitor experiences across the islands.

Registration and a briefing begin at 7 a.m., with the hike starting at 8 a.m. The trail is about half a mile and self-guided. Participants are asked to bring a reusable water container, and water and light refreshments will be provided. The first 20 people to register will receive an MVA eco bag and cooling towel.

Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

MVA said the hike is part of its “Far From Ordinary” campaign, which aims to expand the ways residents and visitors can experience the destination through scenic trails, viewpoints and community-led outdoor adventures. The agency said it welcomes participants who have ideas for new visitor experiences tied to the islands’ nature trails, or who simply want to help promote the Marianas.
