SAIPAN — Partly cloudy skies and isolated showers are in the forecast for Saipan, Tinian and Rota today, with highs around 87 degrees and east winds of 10 to 15 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam.
The chance of showers stands at 20 percent today and tonight, with overnight lows around 79 degrees. Similar conditions are expected Thursday before winds turn northeast around 10 mph Thursday evening and become light overnight.
Friday through Saturday brings a slightly drier pattern, with a 10 percent chance of light showers, light and variable winds and highs around 87. Shower chances return to 20 percent Saturday night through Monday night, with lows in the upper 70s and highs in the upper 80s. Tuesday is forecast to be partly sunny with a 20 percent chance of showers and highs in the upper 80s.
Across Marianas coastal waters, light to gentle east winds are expected through the weekend with combined seas of 3 to 4 feet. East winds of 10 knots and seas around 4 feet are forecast today, easing to around 3 feet by Thursday night and holding through Sunday.
At Tanapag Harbor, low tide of 0.6 feet arrives at 9:53 a.m. today, followed by a high tide of 1.5 feet at 3:53 p.m. and a low of 0.9 feet at 8:55 p.m. A high tide of 2.3 feet comes at 3:15 a.m. Thursday, with a low of 0.2 feet at 10:33 a.m., a high of 1.7 feet at 5:25 p.m. and a low of 1.2 feet at 9:54 p.m.
At Tinian, today’s tides run from a low of 0.3 feet at 9:12 a.m. to a high of 1.5 feet at 3:31 p.m. and a low of 0.4 feet at 8:35 p.m. At Rota, a low of 0.8 feet at 9:29 a.m. is followed by a high of 1.9 feet at 3:30 p.m. and a low of 1.1 feet at 8:52 p.m.
