Liberation Day Committee Invites Vendors to Join 80th Celebration

SAIPAN — The 2026 Liberation Day Committee is inviting vendors and concessionaires to apply for the 80th Liberation Day Celebration, with applications due June 22.

The committee said the celebration will be held Friday and Saturday, July 3 and 4, at the Civic Center Grounds in Susupe. Festival grounds will be open from noon to 10 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday.

The event commemorates the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Northern Mariana Islands and is expected to draw thousands of residents and visitors, featuring cultural performances, local entertainment, family activities, community exhibits and a variety of food and retail vendors. The committee said the anniversary recognizes the reopening of Camp Susupe on July 4, 1946, when Chamorro and Carolinian families were permitted to return home and rebuild after the war.

“The story of Liberation Day is one of resilience, hope, and renewal,” said Frances Santos, chairwoman of the 2026 Liberation Day Committee. “Eighty years later, we continue to draw inspiration from the courage and determination of those who came before us. Our theme, ‘Together We Rise, Together We Stand,’ reflects the unity and strength that have carried our islands through challenges and continue to guide us forward as one community.”

Applications are open to food and beverage vendors, carnival and specialty treats, retail merchandise, arts and crafts, games and family entertainment, informational and community booths, and amusement and recreational activities.

The committee said vendor spaces are limited and applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, with a deadline of 3 p.m. Monday, June 22. Applications and requirements are available from the Saipan Mayor’s Office or online at the committee’s concessionaire link.

For inquiries, the committee can be reached at (670) 234-6208 or by email at treasurer.liberation@gmail.com. The committee also posts updates on Facebook and Instagram at @80thcnmiliberation.
