GPA Trucks Arrive on Saipan, En Route to Reunite With Crews Already on Island

SAIPAN — A fleet of Guam Power Authority bucket trucks, utility trucks and specialized equipment was offloaded at the Port of Saipan Monday afternoon and is now on the road to be reunited with GPA crews already on island assisting Commonwealth Utilities Corporation with Sinlaku power restoration.

GPA has deployed more than 55 skilled personnel to Saipan to assist CUC, including line crews, engineers and technicians. A six-member forward team was followed by a 24-member first wave, with the full deployment of more than 55 personnel planned for the effort.

GPA transported the bucket trucks, utility trucks and other specialized equipment to Saipan via ocean cargo to support restoration work.

Saipan remains 100% without commercial power, with water restoration at 49% as of Monday.
