SAIPAN – The CNMI Department of Public Safety will reinstate all non-essential fees on June 1, ending the temporary suspension put in place during the recovery period following Super Typhoon Sinlaku.
DPS said in a public advisory dated Thursday that the suspension was implemented to assist residents and businesses affected by the typhoon and to support ongoing recovery efforts throughout the Commonwealth. Beginning June 1, standard fees for non-essential services provided by DPS will once again be applied in accordance with existing regulations and procedures.
The advisory was issued by Commissioner Anthony I. Macaranas through the Department of Public Safety. DPS thanked the public for its patience, cooperation and understanding during the recovery period and said the department remains committed to serving the community.
