SAIPAN — The Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority completed 324 emergency transports between April 10 and Sunday morning in support of Typhoon Sinlaku response and recovery operations, the agency reported.
Of the 324 trips logged since the storm, 161 were medical transports, making health care access the dominant mission. Shelter transports accounted for 98 trips, moving residents to and from designated community shelter sites across Saipan. Airport runs totaled 37, supporting the flow of personnel and logistics through Saipan International Airport. Military transports accounted for 18 trips.
COTA activated its emergency transportation operations April 10, 2026, at 6 a.m., ahead of Sinlaku’s landfall. The figures cover operations through 6 a.m. Sunday, April 26.
