SAIPAN — The Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority completed 536 emergency transports during its Super Typhoon Sinlaku activation, the agency reported Tuesday.
The activation ran from April 10, 2026, through 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, covering shelter operations, medical runs, military coordination and airport service.
Medical transports accounted for the largest share of the total, with 341 trips. COTA also moved 126 evacuees and shelterees, completed 37 airport runs and provided 18 military-related transports during the activation period.
The activation was coordinated with the CNMI Office of the Governor, Homeland Security and Emergency Management, the Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority and TransitCNMI operations.
