United Airlines to Resume Daily Saipan-Guam Flights Thursday; Jetway 2 Back Online

SAIPAN — United Airlines will resume daily flights between Saipan and Guam beginning Thursday, April 23, the Commonwealth Ports Authority announced Tuesday in Port Update 13.

The daily United service will arrive at Saipan at 8:50 a.m. and depart at 9:55 a.m. Other airline partners have yet to confirm their resumption schedules.

For Wednesday, April 22, two United rescue flights are scheduled. The first arrives at 8:50 a.m. and departs at 9:55 a.m. on the Guam-Saipan-Guam route. The second arrives at 12:45 p.m. and departs at 1:45 p.m. on the Narita-Guam-Saipan route.

In a significant update at the airport, Jetway 2 is now operational. Two stair-carts will serve as backup, bringing the total enplaning and deplaning capacity to three. The remaining five jetways sustained damage and are not yet operational. Both runways have been assessed and are clear. Flights remain limited to daytime operations only due to damage to navigational aids. The airport is running on generator power with limited running water. The Bank of Guam ATM at the airport is out of service.

Rota Airport is open to all flights. Tinian Airport is open for humanitarian flights only during daytime hours.

The Port of Saipan remains closed under Port Heavy Weather Condition Zulu. Port generators are down and dock lights are damaged, though the administrative office is open. Tinian Harbor and Rota West Harbor are both at PHWC Whiskey.
