PSS Curbside Meals Return on Austerity Days Starting Monday
SAIPAN — The Public School System Child Nutrition Program will resume curbside grab-and-go breakfast meals, lunch meals and snacks on PSS austerity days beginning Monday, Aug. 24, the school system announced, with distribution running 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. while supplies last.

SAIPAN — The National Weather Service delivered its most reassuring assessment yet for the southern Marianas on Thursday morning, telling Good Morning Marianas that worry over Tropical Storm Saudel “should be pretty minimal” for Guam, Rota and Saipan as the storm trends farther north, while urging residents of the far Northern Islands to keep close track of it.

SAIPAN — Saipan and Tinian get a partly sunny Thursday with scattered showers and one more mostly quiet day Friday before the weather turns Friday night, according to the National Weather Service 6 a.m. forecast, which now names Tropical Storm Saudel directly as the reason seas and winds build into the weekend.
Saudel Races Northwest as Forecasters Say Rapid Strengthening Begins This Afternoon
SAIPAN — Tropical Storm Saudel accelerated to 16 mph on a northwest track overnight, and the Joint Typhoon Warning Center said in its 7 a.m. Thursday warning that a period of rapid intensification is forecast to begin this afternoon and run through Friday, carrying the storm to typhoon strength as it approaches the Marianas.
