TRANSIT CNMI Warns of Blue Line 1B Route Changes as Garapan Debris Removal Begins

SAIPAN — Riders on the Fixed Route Blue Line 1B should expect route changes around Garapan as crews begin residential debris removal in the area, TRANSIT CNMI said in a service alert Wednesday.

Bus stops numbered 2, 3, and 4 along the Blue Line 1B may be temporarily inaccessible to drivers while cleanup is underway, the agency said. Routes may change as crews work the area.

The agency is asking riders to wait at the nearest accessible bus stop and raise a hand to flag down the driver.

The alert lands the same day that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers debris removal mission begins active work in Sector 6, which covers Garapan, Garapan North, Lower Base, Navy Hill, and Puerto Rico. That sector is scheduled to run through June 15.
