SAIPAN — All four private trash collection companies on Saipan have resumed service following Typhoon Sinlaku, with officials urging residents to keep household trash, green waste and metal waste strictly separated when disposing of storm debris.
Mixing the three waste streams creates cleanup problems, contaminates recyclable and compostable material and may delay collection, the CNMI Joint Information Center said in JIC Update 6.
Residents without private collection service can drop off household waste at the Lower Base Transfer Station or the Marpi Landfill. Both sites are open daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and close for lunch from noon to 1:00 PM. Call DPW at 670-322-2745 for more information.
Artman Corporation has resumed collection. Customers with missing bins may use a personal bin or place trash in a neat, secure pile for pickup. Lost bins can be reported to Artman at 670-233-4321.
At Your Disposal has also resumed collection. Customers with lost bins may use a personal bin or arrange trash in a neat pile. Report lost bins to AYD at 670-235-7270.
G-Man Trash Services is back in operation. Customers with lost bins may use a personal bin for now. G-Man said it will provide 55-gallon drums to customers who lost bins at a later date. Call 670-285-2909 for lost bins.
Saipan’s Hill 569 has resumed collection. Customers with lost bins may use a personal bin. All household trash must be placed in trash bags for pickup. Report lost bins to 670-989-7827.
Collection schedules may experience delays due to storm impacts. JIC urged the public to be patient with trash disposal companies during the recovery.
