SAIPAN — The Saipan Chamber of Commerce has cancelled its 17th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament, originally scheduled for April 25, 2026 at Laolao Bay Golf and Resort, due to the impact of Super Typhoon Sinlaku.
“We have made the difficult decision to cancel our tournament due to the recent storm and current circumstances as the recovery and well-being of our community remain our top priority,” said Executive Director Kimm Camacho.
Participants who have already submitted payments will receive full refunds. Sponsors will be contacted directly.
The tournament is a key fundraiser for the Chamber’s Annual Scholarship Program, and the organization acknowledged the cancellation will affect its ability to provide the same level of scholarship support this year. The timeline for the scholarship program may be adjusted as a result. The Chamber said it is exploring alternative ways to continue supporting higher education opportunities for students.
