SAIPAN – The Republican Party of the Northern Mariana Islands Association named Patrick Cepeda its new president after Joseph “Lee Pan” T. Guerrero resigned for personal reasons, the party said Saturday.
The board accepted Guerrero’s resignation and thanked him for his service. First Vice President Patricia Rasa, next in line under party bylaws, declined to assume the role due to health and personal reasons, prompting the board to appoint Cepeda effective immediately.
Party leaders described Cepeda as a longtime member known for integrity and public service and said they’re confident he will build on the party’s work across the Commonwealth.
The current board lists Rasa as first vice president, the second vice president seat vacant, Irene Holl as secretary and Melvin Faisao as treasurer.
The party plans to notify members and supporters of the transition and updated board composition.
