SAIPAN – Northern Marianas College is bringing wellness check-ins, disaster assistance information and peer support off campus this week, setting up at two Saipan cafes on Tuesday and Thursday.
The NMC Student Wellness and Support Outreach is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19 and Thursday, May 21 from 8 a.m. to noon. The outreach will be held at Cha Cafe and Bistro in Garapan and Java Joe’s in Dandan, the college said.
NMC staff and peer mentors will be on hand at both events to connect current students with wellness check-ins, guidance, disaster assistance resources, referrals and other support services. Light refreshments will be available while supplies last.
The outreach comes as students continue to navigate the aftermath of Super Typhoon Sinlaku, with the college emphasizing that students do not have to go through recovery alone.
“You matter,” the outreach campaign said.
