NMC Reschedules 45th Commencement to July 24 at American Memorial Park

SAIPAN — Northern Marianas College will hold its 45th Commencement Ceremony on Friday, July 24, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the American Memorial Park Amphitheater, the College announced.

The ceremony was originally set for May 22 but was postponed after the impacts of Super Typhoon Sinlaku. The College said the storm disrupted its operations and affected students, employees and families across the Commonwealth, and that officials chose to delay the event until conditions and institutional capacity allowed for a safe and meaningful celebration.

NMC acknowledged the extraordinary challenges students and the wider community have faced in the aftermath of the storm, saying the decision to postpone was made to prioritize the safety and well-being of students, employees and families first.

The College thanked the National Park Service for its partnership in hosting this year’s ceremony at the amphitheater, describing the site as one of the Commonwealth’s most iconic public spaces where graduates, families and community members can gather to celebrate the Class of 2026.

The ceremony will recognize students who completed associate and bachelor’s degree programs during the 2025-2026 academic year. Family members, friends, alumni, community leaders and members of the public are invited to attend.

NMC said the Class of 2026 joins thousands of graduates who have gone on to serve the Commonwealth as educators, nurses, healthcare professionals, business owners, public servants, elected officials and leaders in other fields, reflecting the role higher education continues to play in strengthening the CNMI’s workforce.

The College said additional details on graduate participation, guest seating, parking, accessibility accommodations and commencement-related activities will be announced in the coming weeks, and encouraged graduating students to monitor their College email and official NMC channels for updates and deadlines.
