Small craft advisory cancelled for Saipan and Tinian waters

SAIPAN — The CNMI Emergency Operations Center has cancelled the small craft advisory for Saipan and Tinian coastal waters, according to a 3:30 p.m. Thursday bulletin from CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management based on information from the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam.

Latest altimetry data suggests combined seas have remained below 10 feet throughout the morning and early afternoon hours, the bulletin said.

Governor David M. Apatang advised all mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, to continue taking precautionary measures while operating in the water.
