D-NAP Application Period for Tinian and Rota Postponed as Flight Cancellations Ground Certification Units

SAIPAN — The Disaster Nutrition Assistance Program application period for Tinian and Rota has been postponed because flight cancellations are preventing certification staff from reaching the two islands, the CNMI Joint Information Center said.

In an update issued at 11:20 AM Tuesday, the Joint Information Center said application intake for the program, known as D-NAP, had been scheduled for June 24 to 27 on Tinian and Rota. That intake has been suspended because flight cancellations prevent NAP Certification Units from deploying to the islands.

The CNMI Nutrition Assistance Program will provide updates as they become available, the center said. No new intake dates were announced.

The postponement comes as Tropical Depression 08W passes through the Marianas, bringing the heavy showers and gusty winds that have disrupted travel across the islands Tuesday.
