The Commonwealth Utilities Corporation will interrupt power service on Tinian on three days over the coming week, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, to allow line crews to replace eight damaged 45-foot power poles with concrete poles.
On Thursday, August 27, the outage covers Marpo Heights I and II, including areas west of the Tinian Airport, Ace Hardware and Docomo Pacific, for three pole replacements. On Friday, August 28, portions of Marpo Valley lose power for another three poles. On Monday, August 31, a portion of the Carolinas Agricultural area is affected for the final two poles. No water wells are affected on any of the three days, and CUC has published maps outlining each outage area.
Motorists are advised to reduce speeds and use caution near the work areas or take alternative routes.
