SAIPAN — Drivers heading north through Susupe will lose a lane next week. CUC announced a temporary closure of the outer northbound lane on Beach Road from Tuesday, August 11 through Thursday, August 13, running each day from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The affected stretch runs along Beach Road in Susupe from in front of Zoom’s Cafe to Mt. Carmel Cathedral, according to the advisory and its accompanying map. The closure allows CUC wastewater operators to conduct sewer line cleaning and inspection, along with manhole maintenance.
Motorists are advised to reduce speed and exercise caution when traveling through the area, with detour signs and traffic control measures in place to safely direct drivers around the work zone.
The daytime window means the closure avoids the peak of the morning school and work commute, opening after 9 a.m. and clearing by mid-afternoon each day.
