Bank of Guam Donates $10,000 for Super Typhoon Bavi Relief in the CNMI

HAGÅTÑA — Bank of Guam has donated $10,000 to the Ayuda Foundation to support ongoing Super Typhoon Bavi relief efforts throughout the CNMI, the bank announced Friday.

The donation will go toward the Typhoon Support Logistics Center in Saipan, which serves as a central hub for receiving, organizing and distributing urgently needed relief supplies to communities impacted by the storm.

At the center, volunteers and staff inventory incoming goods and organize them into priority categories including food, water, hygiene kits, emergency shelter materials and other essential supplies. They also coordinate air and sea shipments to deliver resources to evacuation shelters and the hardest-hit communities throughout the CNMI, particularly on Rota, which took a direct hit from Bavi on July 6.

“This generous contribution from Bank of Guam strengthens our ability to mobilize critical supplies and reach families who continue to face the difficult work of recovery. We are deeply grateful for the Bank’s continued partnership and commitment to the people of Rota and communities throughout the CNMI,” Ayuda Foundation Executive Director Carlotta Leon Guerrero said.

“Recovery is something we face together, with the strength and compassion of an entire community. We are deeply grateful to the Ayuda Foundation and the Typhoon Support Logistics Center for showing up where support is needed most,” Bank of Guam President and Chief Executive Officer Joaquin P.L.G. Cook said. “As the People’s Bank, we remain fully committed to standing with the people of Rota and our neighbors across the CNMI as they heal, recover, and rebuild.”

Bank of Guam, established more than 50 years ago as Guam’s first locally owned and chartered bank, operates 15 branches across Guam, the CNMI, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Republic of Palau and San Francisco, California.
