HAGÅTÑA — The Guam Bureau of Statistics and Plans has published new quarterly data on the volume of locally produced agricultural and fish products purchased by the Government of Guam, the bureau said.
The data is required under Guam Public Law 33-93, which directs the Bureau of Statistics and Plans and the Department of Agriculture to collect and publish quarterly figures on both imported agricultural and fish products and locally produced products procured by government agencies. The law is intended to improve transparency about the quantity and types of produce and fish imported into Guam or bought by the government, and to highlight the role of local farmers and fishermen in meeting consumer demand.
The bureau already collects and reports imported product data annually. The new report adds information on government procurement of local produce and fish products, covering purchases made during the second quarter of Fiscal Year 2026, from January through March 2026.
The bureau credited the Government House, Guam Department of Education, Department of Youth Affairs, Department of Public Health and Social Services, Guam Memorial Hospital Authority and Department of Corrections for contributing to the report.
