SAIPAN – The National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam is calling for partly cloudy skies and isolated showers across Saipan, Tinian and Rota on Friday, with highs around 87 degrees and overnight lows near 78.
East winds will run 15 to 20 mph through the day, easing to 10 to 15 mph overnight. The chance of showers is 20% Friday and Friday night.
Conditions get a touch more active Saturday, with partly sunny skies and scattered showers as rain chances climb to 30%. Saturday night and Sunday turn mostly cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.
The longer-range outlook through Thursday calls for mostly cloudy skies with a 50% chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms, lows in the upper 70s and highs in the mid 80s.
On the water, moderate easterlies are expected Friday before winds increase slightly through the weekend. Combined seas of 5 to 7 feet will gradually decrease over the next several days, though seas may begin to rise again early next week. Mariners should watch for gusts to 25 knots Saturday night with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.
At Tanapag Harbor on Saipan, high tide hits 1.8 feet at 10:51 a.m. Friday, with a notable low tide of -0.2 feet at 6:33 p.m. Tinian high tide is 1.7 feet at 10:49 a.m. and low is 0.0 feet at 6:03 p.m. Rota high tide is 2.2 feet at 10:48 a.m. and low is -0.1 feet at 6:20 p.m.
