SAIPAN — A high rip current risk is in effect through Monday afternoon along east-facing reefs on Saipan, Tinian and Rota, the National Weather Service Tiyan said in its 6:10 a.m. zone forecast.
Saipan and Tinian will see partly cloudy skies with isolated showers and thunderstorms Monday and a high near 87, with east winds 15 to 20 mph. Rota will see partly sunny skies, isolated morning showers giving way to scattered afternoon showers and isolated thunderstorms, with east winds 15 to 20 mph and a high near 86.
Coastal waters across the Marianas will see east winds 15 to 20 knots and seas of 6 to 8 feet Monday, with isolated thunderstorms. Trade winds and swell will diminish from Tuesday onward as the pressure gradient slackens, with combined seas relaxing to 3 to 5 feet around Wednesday.
Low tide at Tanapag Harbor on Saipan is 1.2 feet at 9:59 a.m., followed by high tide of 1.5 feet at 2:13 p.m.
