SAIPAN — The Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority has provided 1,308 emergency transports since Super Typhoon Sinlaku, according to activation figures covering April 10 through 6 a.m. on May 28.
The bulk of the transports were medical, with 843 trips, followed by 334 transports for shelterees. The activation also recorded 61 transports in the “others” category, 52 airport transports, and 18 military transports.
COTA carried out the emergency transportation activation in coordination with the CNMI government and the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
