COTA Reaches 366 Emergency Transports; Blue Line 1B Riders Told to Flag Down Buses as Signs Are Missing

SAIPAN — The Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority has completed 366 emergency transports since activating April 10, with medical runs now totaling 194, shelter transports at 104, airport runs at 37 and military trips at 18, the agency reported Tuesday.

COTA also issued a practical advisory for Blue Line 1B riders: because bus stop signs were damaged or lost in the storm, passengers should raise their hand to flag down drivers before the bus arrives at their stop. The route is running daily from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Call-A-Ride Saipan remains limited to essential medical trips. Call-A-Ride Rota is fully operational. Call-A-Ride Tinian remains suspended until Thursday, April 30.

COTA can be reached at (670) 236-2682 or at transit.cnmi.gov.
