SAIPAN — The CNMI Department of Finance, Division of Revenue and Taxation, announced Saturday that income tax deadlines have been extended to October 15, 2026 for individuals and businesses affected by Super Typhoon Sinlaku.
The relief follows the State of Emergency declared by Governor David M. Apatang and the federal disaster declaration issued April 11. The Secretary of Finance authorized the postponement under NMTIT Section 7508A.
All income tax deadlines falling between April 11 and October 15, 2026 are postponed. That means an individual income tax return normally due April 15 is now due October 15. Estimated tax payments normally due June 15 are also extended to October 15.
The relief applies to individual income tax returns and estimated tax payments. It does not apply to the Business Gross Revenue Tax, Wage and Salary Tax, Payroll Withholding or other non-NMTIT obligations. It also does not cover any tax obligations that were due before April 11.
Taxpayers who receive a late filing or billing notice from DRT on a return that falls within the relief period should contact the office to request a penalty abatement. For more information, call 670-664-1040 or visit finance.gov.mp/announcements.
