SAIPAN – The Commonwealth Election Office said Thursday that the 2026 General Election remains on schedule and that all important dates, deadlines and procedures will continue to be followed, despite ongoing recovery from Super Typhoon Sinlaku.
The office will resume full operations Monday, May 18, during normal business hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., according to a press release issued by Chairman Jose P. Kiyoshi.
“Despite the recent challenges and recovery efforts following Typhoon Sinlaku, the CNMI Election Office remains committed to ensuring that the election process proceeds in an orderly, transparent and lawful manner,” Kiyoshi said. “Preparations and coordination efforts are ongoing to maintain election operations and services for the people of the Commonwealth.”
Voters, candidates and the general public are encouraged to continue monitoring official announcements regarding voter registration deadlines, absentee voting, candidate filing periods and other important election-related information.
