Saipan — Casa Marianas announced a partnership with the Saipan Humane Society and Saipan Cares for Animals aimed at addressing the CNMI’s ongoing shortage of veterinary services by supporting visiting veterinary teams with sponsored accommodations, workspace, and logistical support.
Casa Marianas, a co-working and co-living hub based at the Gold Beach Hotel, said it will serve as the official hospitality partner for incoming veterinary teams. The support package includes long-stay lodging for visiting veterinarians, access to Casa Marianas’ business services such as high-speed internet, office and conference space and printing, and access to a community hub space intended to support workshops, meetings and coordination of clinic logistics with local animal welfare leadership.
The initiative is designed to strengthen the capacity of off-island veterinary teams that travel to the CNMI for services that can include spay and neuter procedures, vaccinations, and other forms of animal care.
Blaine Graboyes, co-founder of Casa Marianas, said the effort is intended to reduce major logistical and financial barriers animal welfare nonprofits face when bringing veterinary professionals to Saipan, allowing visiting teams to rest and work effectively while focused on animal care.
Amber Weston, executive director of the Saipan Humane Society, said housing is among the most significant costs in bringing off-island veterinary specialists to Saipan and that Casa Marianas’ support allows limited funds to be redirected toward animal medical care, including surgeries, medications and preventative treatment.
Yumiko Brundidge, vice president of Saipan Cares for Animals, said the veterinary shortage affects more than pet owners and described it as a public health concern, adding that the partnership improves the ability to pursue more consistent care.
