Governor Apatang meets Guam Governor and Lieutenant Governor ahead of IGIA talks on Marianas priorities

SAIPAN — Governor David M. Apatang met with Guam Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and Lieutenant Governor Joshua Tenorio on Thursday to coordinate priorities the islands plan to raise at an upcoming Intergovernmental Affairs (IGIA) meeting.

The leaders discussed mining issues, the Bureau of Environmental and Occupational Health (BoEM), and broader regulatory considerations tied to environmental stewardship and resource management across the Marianas region.

The meeting centered on presenting a unified Marianas perspective at IGIA, with Governor Apatang emphasizing that alignment between CNMI and Guam strengthens federal-level advocacy and supports sustainable, responsible development.
