SINAPALO, Rota — The Survivor Recovery Center on Rota opens Monday, Aug. 17, at the Sinapalo Youth Center, giving residents face-to-face help with FEMA Individual Assistance applications and SBA disaster loans.
The center will operate Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. FEMA and SBA representatives will be available to assist with temporary housing, home repairs, damaged personal property and home or business recovery funding.
The center is accessible to individuals with disabilities and those with access and functional needs. Accessible parking, communication access equipment and American Sign Language interpreting upon request are available.
Residents are encouraged to apply before visiting, through DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling (671) 735-1050 or (800) 621-3362 for FEMA, and through sba.gov/disaster or (800) 659-2955 for SBA, with 7-1-1 available for relay services. Those already registered should bring their application tracking number, and assistance is available for anyone who needs help completing an application.
The opening follows Friday’s announcement on Good Morning Marianas by SBA public affairs specialists Raenada Mason and Corey Williams that the center, closed before Super Typhoon Bavi, would reopen this week. The deadline for Sinlaku physical damage applications is Friday, Aug. 21, and SBA officials said an administrative declaration expected in the coming days will open disaster loans to Saipan and Tinian homeowners and renters for Bavi damage.
