SAIPAN — The CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management Office is monitoring a tropical disturbance designated Invest 92W in eastern Micronesia near the Marshall Islands, in coordination with the National Weather Service in Guam.
The system remains broad, weak and disorganized with no defined center of circulation, and any development is expected to be gradual, HSEM said in an advisory Sunday afternoon. The disturbance is generally moving west-northwest toward the Mariana Islands, but its future development, track and potential impacts remain uncertain. Some weather models suggest the possibility of gradual organization later this week.
HSEM said now is not a time for alarm but for awareness and readiness. The office encouraged residents to stay informed through official HSEM and National Weather Service updates, review basic emergency plans and supplies, and monitor weather conditions over the coming days.
The office said additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
