LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort to Reopen Limited Play June 6

SAIPAN — LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort will reopen limited golf operations on June 6, the resort announced, marking an early milestone in its recovery from Typhoon Sinlaku.

The resort said it accelerated a timeline that originally targeted later this summer, citing community support and a desire to help restore Saipan’s tourism and recreation industries.

Beginning June 6, golf will be available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In this first phase, play is limited to an 18-hole layout made up of West Course holes 10 through 18 and East Course holes 10 through 18. The resort said additional holes and services will be restored as recovery continues.

LaoLao Bay said it has kept weekend driving range operations running through the recovery period despite ongoing infrastructure challenges. The reopening of golf operations is the first phase of a broader recovery plan and a step toward restoring normal recreational and tourism activity on the island, the resort said.

The resort said its golf cart inventory remains reduced because of storm-related damage, flooding and battery failures caused by the prolonged island-wide power outage. To maximize cart availability and keep the course running efficiently, single-player rounds and five-player groups will not be permitted during the initial reopening period.

LaoLao Bay also said it is introducing online tee time reservations through its official website and the Chrono Golf platform, available by web and mobile app. The resort noted the platform is already used by Coral Ocean Resort Golf Course, offering golfers a familiar booking experience across Saipan facilities.

“The road to full recovery remains a long one, but reopening golf operations is an important milestone for both our resort and the community,” a resort representative said. “We are grateful for the patience, encouragement, and support we have received and look forward to welcoming golfers back to LaoLao Bay.”

The resort said it remains committed to preserving jobs and supporting the local economy while restoration continues, and that further updates on course availability, services and operating schedules will follow as recovery progresses.
