SAIPAN — The Saipan Mayor’s Office is pushing back against misinformation circulating on social media, clarifying that it is accepting applications for disaster tents but is not issuing or distributing any tents at this time.
The office said PDF files being shared on social media regarding FEMA disaster tent distribution to residents are inaccurate and urged the public not to be misled.
Beginning Monday, April 27, the Mayor’s Office will accept Disaster Tent Program applications in person from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, at 2799 Teer Drive Suite A. Submitting an application does not guarantee a tent. FEMA will assess each claim, and no tents will be issued or distributed until that process is complete.
The program is administered through the Mayor’s Office in partnership with the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services and FEMA. All applications must be submitted in person. Email and digital copies will not be accepted.
Residents can reach the Mayor’s Office at (670) 234-6208 or at saipanmayor.cnmi.gov.
