NAP Says 20% Benefit Increase Still Coming, but Gives No Date as System Updates Continue

SAIPAN — The CNMI Nutrition Assistance Program says the 20 percent benefit increase announced after this year’s major disasters remains in place and staff are working to deliver it to eligible recipients as soon as possible, though the program has not said when the additional benefits will arrive. The release, issued Friday by the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, follows repeated NMI News Service inquiries on behalf of recipients awaiting the increase.

CUC Fuel Charge Rises to 40 Cents per kWh September 1

SAIPAN — The fuel adjustment charge on CUC power bills will increase by $0.06043 per kilowatt-hour, from $0.34129 to $0.40172, effective Tuesday, September 1, the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation announced Friday.
