UOG, NMC launch CNMI Green Growth Kupu Conservation Corps on Saipan, building Pacific green workforce

SAIPAN — The University of Guam’s Guam Green Growth (G3) and the CNMI Green Growth Initiative (CNMI GG) have launched the CNMI Green Growth Kupu Conservation Corps on Saipan, bringing a proven environmental workforce pipeline to the Commonwealth and training the next generation of leaders for the Pacific’s green economy. The program is facilitated by the UOG Center for Island Sustainability & Sea Grant (UOG CIS & Sea Grant) and modeled after Guam’s successful G3 Conservation Corps, which has already trained more than a hundred participants across sustainability sectors.
Henry Luce Foundation awards $200,000 to bolster Pacific Islands humanities; NMHC to expand programs

SAIPAN, CNMI — October 16, 2025. The Northern Marianas Humanities Council (NMHC) has received a $200,000 grant from the Henry Luce Foundation to support Pacific Islands humanities councils following sharp federal funding cuts this year. The three-year aid package will help sustain and revitalize programs across the region, including NMHC, Humanities Guåhan, the Amerika Samoa Humanities Council, and the Hawai‘i Council for the Humanities.
Nauru to Host Inaugural Micronesia Festival and Miss Micronesia Pageant

NAURU – Nauru is preparing to welcome the region for the first Micronesia Musical Festival and Miss Micronesia Pageant, set for October 6–9, 2025.
