SBA Tops $10 Million in Disaster Loan Approvals for CNMI Typhoon Recovery

SAIPAN — The U.S. Small Business Administration has surpassed $10 million in disaster loan approvals for Super Typhoon Sinlaku recovery in the Commonwealth, according to figures shared by SBA Public Affairs Specialist Raenada Mason for activity through June 7, 2026.

The agency has approved $10,067,700 across 907 full applications. Home disaster loans account for the bulk of the total, with 736 approved applications worth $9,854,900.

Business disaster loans totaled $126,600 across 156 applications, while Economic Injury Disaster Loans, known as EIDL, totaled $85,200 across 15 applications.

The figures reflect approvals only and represent the latest data point in the federal disaster lending effort following the Category 4 storm that made landfall April 13. SBA disaster loans are available to homeowners, renters, businesses and nonprofits to repair or replace storm-damaged property.
