CNMI innovator Samantha Salamon launches The Matcha Edit in Saipan

Saipan — Samantha Salamon, a member of the first cohort of the CNMI Innovation Incubator Program, has launched The Matcha Edit, a premium matcha drink business in Saipan that blends her background as a local photographer with a new focus on high-quality matcha crafted for the community.

According to the CNMI Innovation Incubator Program, Salamon said her goal is to provide an intentional and refined matcha experience, built around proper preparation techniques, flavor pairings, and thoughtfully crafted drinks. The program said her products use matcha sourced from Uji and Shizuoka, Japan.

The Matcha Edit first debuted in December through a small pop-up at Salamon’s photography studio, which she said helped introduce the business to new customers and gave her feedback as she continues to grow the concept.

The business is currently operating as takeout-only and is located at the ASLITO LPVES Building, on top of Drifters Gym. Customers can follow @_thematchaedit on Instagram for updates on flavors, specials, and the daily schedule.

The incubator program said the launch reflects its role in supporting local innovators who are bringing new ideas and experiences to the CNMI business community. A photo included in the press packet shows Salamon serving a freshly prepared premium matcha drink to a customer at The Matcha Edit.
