SAIPAN — Northern Marianas Athletics (NMA), in partnership with the Marianas Visitors Authority, has issued a formal invitation to Oceania Athletics Association (OAA) member federations to participate in the Saipan Marathon on March 7.
In his letter to OAA, NMA president Ramon A. Tebuteb said the Saipan Marathon is a World Athletics–registered competition and is listed on the World Athletics Global Calendar as a World Rankings Competition, meaning performances at the event may be used as a pathway toward meeting OAA qualification standards for Darwin 2026, subject to applicable OAA and World Athletics regulations.
In the invitation, NMA described the event as offering a World Athletics–compliant course and a competitive early-season opportunity for athletes across Oceania, while also aiming to strengthen regional cooperation through the race.
