RUN PARADISE: Saipan Marathon 2026 set for March 7 in The Marianas

SAIPAN – A day after announcing the return of the Hell of the Marianas 100km cycling event, the Marianas Visitors Authority (MVA) announced the return of the Saipan Marathon on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Once again, runners from around the world will descend upon Saipan to race along turquoise seas, lush tropical greenery, and historic World War II sites in The Marianas. The annual event features a full marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K, with online registration opening in October 2025 at raceroster.com.

The course is officially certified and measured by World Athletics in cooperation with the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), ensuring international standards for both elite and amateur runners.

“The Saipan Marathon is more than a race—it’s an adventure that combines sport, culture, and the unmatched beauty of The Marianas,” said MVA Managing Director Jamika R. Taijeron. “Last year, over 600 runners from 19 countries and territories joined us, and we look forward to welcoming even more in 2026.”

Launched in 2006, the event has grown into a signature race in the region, drawing athletes, families, and supporters who often extend their stay to explore the islands. The route showcases the natural beauty and layered history of The Marianas, including sites from World War II and relics from the islands’ Japanese, German, and Spanish administrative eras, while local supporters line the course with warm island hospitality.
