Saipan Chamber of Commerce Launches Summer Visionary Internship Program

SAIPAN — The Saipan Chamber of Commerce has launched its Summer Visionary Internship Program and is seeking two interns to serve as administrative assistants during a seven-week summer term running June 22 to August 7, 2026.

The Chamber said it has hosted internship opportunities for CNMI youth since 2023 and that this year is no exception despite island-wide hardship. The unpaid internship gives students hands-on learning in a professional nonprofit business environment, with participants developing workplace communication, leadership and organizational skills while supporting Chamber programs and initiatives.

Interns will assist with a range of projects including supporting Chamber events and programs, contributing to social media and marketing efforts, creating content for newsletters and member communications, conducting research and data entry, and helping with member outreach and engagement.

The program is open to high school juniors and seniors and college students with an interest in business, marketing, communications or community engagement. Applicants must be available about 20 hours per week, able to commit to at least four hours per day on scheduled workdays, have reliable transportation, and demonstrate professionalism, creativity and a willingness to learn. Those who complete the program will receive a Certificate of Completion.

The application was initially shared with the Chamber’s internal Volunteer Committee members as of June 9 and is now open to everyone who meets the eligibility requirements.

“Over the past three years, our internship programs have provided students with valuable opportunities to gain hands-on experience and explore potential career pathways,” said Kimm Camacho, executive director of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce. She said that while funding limitations prevented the traditional internship program this year, the Chamber developed the internal experiential learning program to keep creating meaningful opportunities for youth, adding that past programs have shown clear growth in participants’ confidence and maturity.
