SAIPAN— The CNMI Public School System has issued a brief official statement defending its hiring and classification practices in response to recent NMI News Service opinion pieces calling for greater accountability and transparency in the system’s human resources decisions.
In a one-paragraph statement dated Tuesday, November 25, 2025, and issued through the Office of the Commissioner of Education, PSS framed its response as a “Response to Recent NMI News Op-Eds on PSS Accountability and HR Practices.”
“The Public School System, through the Office of the Commissioner of Education, strictly adheres to Board of Education Personnel Regulations, including well-placed and clear procedures for hiring, classification, and grievances,” the statement said.
