SAIPAN — The CNMI Public School System has postponed all PSS-sanctioned weekend activities until further notice, citing the approaching tropical disturbance Invest 90W and a heavy weather briefing held Thursday afternoon.
In a notice issued Thursday from the Office of the Commissioner of Education, PSS said school and extracurricular activities will continue as scheduled Friday, April 10. However, all weekend activities are on hold pending further weather developments.
PSS said further guidance on next week’s schedule will be shared as official weather updates become available. The office said it is closely monitoring conditions and remains in communication with appropriate government agencies.
The decision follows the CNMI Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management advisory issued Thursday morning and a 3 p.m. CNMI Heavy Weather Briefing.
