SAIPAN — Governor David M. Apatang welcomed representatives from Philippine Airlines as the carrier prepares to resume direct service between Saipan and Manila, with the inaugural flight scheduled for March 29.
The announcement was made during a press conference held in partnership with the Commonwealth Ports Authority, Century Travel, the Marianas Visitors Authority, and Tan Holdings Corporation and Northern Marianas Sports Association, describing the return of the route as a milestone for regional connectivity, tourism, and economic development.
Philippine Airlines officials at the event included Bryan Sansolis, regional head of Japan, Korea, and Oceania, and Rizlyn Blaine Roxas, a marketing officer for the airline.
Governor Apatang said restoring the direct Manila route is expected to improve travel access for residents and visitors, support the tourism industry, and strengthen cultural and economic ties between the CNMI and the Philippines.
