SAIPAN – Rackets and shuttlecocks have a much larger profile thanks to the work of some passionate fans of the CNMI’s growing sport of badminton. Now the Northern Marianas Badminton Association (NMBA) has unveiled its redesigned website, offering a modern platform to showcase the sport’s growth and connect with players, schools, and fans in the Marianas and beyond.
The new site, now live at nmibadminton.com, provides clearer navigation and detailed sections on NMBA’s national teams, tournaments, programs, and facilities. Visitors will also find highlights of the association’s achievements and resources supporting year-round player development.
“Our goal is to create a functional, informative, and accessible website that reflects the growth of badminton in the NMI,” said NMBA President Merlie Tolentino. “This platform will help us communicate with our athletes, schools, supporters, and partners, while showcasing the NMBA’s work in developing and promoting badminton in the NMI.”
The redesign comes on the heels of NMBA’s successful hosting of recent regional tournaments, which drew athletes and supporters together and demonstrated the islands’ ability to stage competitive, well-organized events.
The upgraded site also features expanded coverage of community initiatives, including the Interscholastic Badminton League and Shuttle Time—a Badminton World Federation program designed to give teachers and coaches simple tools to introduce the sport to children in schools and communities. Technical education programs for coaches and officials are also highlighted as part of NMBA’s development pathway.
